Back in 1990 I got a 7 Day Rail Rover and treated myself to First Class.

I am thinking of doing it again but unsure whether to go Standard or First Class.

If my memory serves me correctly I did 3814 miles (I know it was the upper 3 thousand).

My travelling habits are different now as I tend to visit and stay but I am still trying to convince myself to do it again.

If I do, do you want me to submit a detailed account?

My husband and I spotted this beautiful bird this morning (Sun 5.2.12.)and didn't know the breed until we visited this site, We did take a photo of it on my phone but it wasn't very clear as I couldn't focus properly, due to touch phone and bright light. It is a beautiful bird.

Thank you for the comment! I read your blog every day, so it's nice to see you found mine! I've not been down to the Shipley Focus'd gallery recently, so I should get myself down there, it seems interesting.

Just looking for info on swans and came across this - a lovely portrait. I have never yet managed a shot of a swan that I'm happy with. Have you seen the amazing exhibition in the Shipley Focus'd Gallery in Shipley's market square, documenting this swan family through 2010? It opened on March 16 2011 and I think is still on. Well worth a look.

I think I have the white balance too far into the pinks. It spoils the picture a little. But I still like it!

We were walking our three Cavalier King Charles Spaniels round the lake on Sunday when my husband spotted this beautiful duck. The colours are so wonderful, neither of us has ever seen one of these before [ it quite brightened the day.
