This sign was posted at various points around the pool we used in Corfu. It’s so very nearly right, but conjures a wonderful image. I wouldn’t know how to start mountaining something tidy, but it sounds difficult. And since it was an English sign in Greece, we’ll overlook the other spelling mistake!
We found loads of amusing mistakes and hundreds of apostrophe crimes. Interestingly though, without exception, every apostrophe crime was committed in establishments run by English ex-pats. The Greeks’ grasp of English was far better!

It doesn’t surprise me that the ex-pats were the worst offenders. I saw a most bizarre apostrophe error the other day, in which a superscript “s” had replaced the apostrophe entirely – who knows where they got that from.
